Originally by: 31i73 As the OP mentioned, this would greatly affect the rest of the game, which would be hard to balance.
I think it would affect the way you play the game. The game would remain the same.
The net effect would be that people would have to work together as escort and convoyer.
Properly managed alliances would become much stronger, being able to lock down their space relatively easier but on the flip side, pirates who got inside would be able to prey apon alliance shipping much more easily.
Poorly managed alliances would probably fall apart or be ripped apart by pirates.
Travel times would increase and opportunities for friendly traders and suppliers would increase accordingly.
Min prices would increase a little.
In short it would imo be absolutely great for eve.

How about we just have teleportation. That way we wont even need instas. Surely space travel shoudnt require actual travel. Its craziness. Like some of you said - its just not fun to travel in a space game. We should have a Nexus or a link solar system. We could call it Planes of Power maybe. Make every system 1 jump from PoP. That would make the game so much funner.

Yeah good idea. Another solution that completely neglects to cater for empire.

Maya - The Devs have posted to the effect that instas are the top thing that players want changed - your opinion that this is not so means absolutely nothing. Any further discussion with you is pointless because you refuse to consider any other POV to your own.
The assertion that some have made that only alliance members want instas removed is untrue. I solo exclusively in EVE and removing instas is also top of my list for things I want changed. It will initially make my current playstyle obsolete however I will adapt as I have adapted to all the other nerfs against solo players over the years.
I would like to point out something about travel times that people are not considering. Profit is related to availability and work. More travel time = more work and less availability which will increase profitability for those who are smart and will mean a requirement for longer travel times is reduced - you wont need to go all the way to Jita because people will be more inclined to buy your goods locally - this means less travel and will be repeated all across Eve - reducing lag as a extra benefit.
I think Avons low slot idea is extremely good. I would like to see the modules unable to be fitted with WCS though. Being able to fit WCS and the modules will make some of the larger many low slotted ships still be invulnerable and bring in another Era of the [Insert Ship Name] that we had with Duel MWD Ravens or MP Armas.
Also I would like to point out that its pointless to say that Instas are perfect and should stay because theyre slated to be removed anyway. What we should be discussing is not whether to continue using them but how they should be changed.

Yeah the state change from not warping interactable to warping un-interactable is pointless.
Imagine this:
Your sitting at a gate in a ship fitted for interception; a industrial ship with no stabs (unlikely but imagine) jumps in and decloaks, before it can warp off, you right click it and choose [intercept target]. Your ships computer scans the indy and calculates the most likely destination based on heading, catches up to the ship your chasing, locks it and activates a scrambler and you both drop out of warp into normal space in the middle of nowhere.
Now wouldn't that be cool. Modules and skills for interception, modules and skills for confusing interception. Opens up the entire universe instead of that piddly little bit around Points of Interest (which are not really that interesting in reality).
